The "Value" of a Portrait
In this assignment, you will use what you learned from the portrait study in weeks 1 & 2 and apply them to recreating HALF of a celebrity portrait from the choices below. You will do the best you can to balance the size and placement of the opposite features AND to match the values. Your goal is to obtain proper form using value instead of line.
If you do not have the ability to print, you may choose from a magazine or an old photo (no smaller than 8" x 10"), but black and white is ideal! Please submit a picture before you start if you are working from a different visual. Glue the half into your sketchbook, making sure to leave enough room on the page for you to complete the face. Use the full photo as reference for your drawing. This will be due on Friday, April 10th.
